It does sound a little strange, but it is hard to break habits. Especially when they make you feel comfortable and secure. If you want to stop though, whenever you think of sucking you finger, replace it with something else that calms you down, or do something that keeps you busy so you will not even think about sucking your thumb. Habits are hard to break so it might take a while before you totally stop. I know from experience.

I know exactly how you feel, I am 21 and I still suck my thumb. Usually just when i am by myself but also when Im bored or lonely. When it happens the most is when I am reading books, when reading I am not doing anything with my hands so it is just habit. I have tried to quit multiple times but would always resort back to it.

my cousin did the exact same thing, but he wasnt 23, his teeth started getting really crooked and was getting bald where he twirled his hair. u need to put shit on your finger so wont liek the taste anymore, but them again, you might be like a bunch of them other people on this website who like eating their own shit. so i guess yoru out of luck.

In college I knew a guy who was always sucking on things, usually the drawstring on the hood of his jacket. Every morning he would walk all the way down to the hall to the bathroom and back in just his little underwear, and he kept touching my stomach (I'm a guy).

So I guess you are only 1/3 as abnormal as this guy.
