Tashkin's study, funded by the National Institutes of Health's National Institute on Drug Abuse, involved 1,200 people in Los Angeles who had lung, neck or head cancer and an additional 1,040 people without cancer matched by age, sex and neighborhood.
They were all asked about their lifetime use of marijuana, tobacco and alcohol. The heaviest marijuana smokers had lighted up more than 22,000 times, while moderately heavy usage was defined as smoking 11,000 to 22,000 marijuana cigarettes. Tashkin found that even the very heavy marijuana smokers showed NO increased incidence of the three cancers studied."
Andy, your own words have come back to haunt you on this one.
I'm not necessarily against recreational drug use, but irresponsible drug use represents a huge social problem. And while it's true that weed isn't as dangerous many people seem to think, it's still a mind-altering substance that puts people like you at risk for acting out in ways that are harmful to youself and others.
If you seriously believe that your "whole life is all screwed up" when you can't use, you are very likely an addict. And having been there myself for many years, I can guarantee you that NOTHING good comes of it.
Studies like this come out all the time. Never ever listen to these stupid once off things they are all just manipulated experiments to give results the author wants.
You hear on the radio one week eating soy gives u cancer then the next that it cures cancer. Its a fucking joke.
I have recently given up smoking full stop and again, no ill effects, withdrawal symptoms or wat ever. 3 Months down the road and I don't want one.
What weed does do, and no one has yet mentioned it, is mess your brain cells (litterally) up. It is not a good thing to smoke. However, I wouldn't try to stop anyone smoking it because there is less problems caused by weed smokers than those who abuse acohol. The damage is not as obvious either except you tend to lose your ability to remember things short term after a while.

As a pharmacy grad, and x weed smoker i can tell u that most drugs are less detrimental to the brain (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants) (with the exclusion of crack ice and a few other stimulants)
Read the real stats, or i can give them to you. At any one time we probably have three to four poeple in the hospital who have been permanantly or short term fucked up, from the effects of marijuana. As for ecstacy, maybe one to two a week (these are usually gone within a few hours).
I am not arguing that certain drugs are better for you than others or watever you guys think. I just reccomend you dont live your life thinking that smoking pot every day wont effect you because you cant feel/see any of the effects.
I am 51. In 1974 I began smoking weed on a daily basis for 24 years.
Near the end of my habit in 1998 I was on my way home, driving at 2:00am down a major highway, I did as I always had, taken a few hits off of a joint. Within minutes I felt the most awful feeling. I felt as if I were going to explode. To wink out and die. It was so bad nearly pulled over to flag someone down to get help. But as I went along this feeling subsided only to come back but not as strong. Like a wave. Finally about 20 minutes later it stopped and I made it home OK.
Throughout the next few months, I laid off the stuff. Each time I then smoked the feeling either came back or I could feel it just underlying, ready to surface. I finally quit altogether. A few years later at a party thought I would try it again, and sure enough after only two hits this feeling was back in full force. I had to leave the party to walk around until it subsided.
Back then, I did some internet searching only to find that it seemed I was alone in this. The only thing I could figure from symptoms was that I was having panic or anxiety attacks. To this day I have not touched the stuff.
Mind you. My sources for the weed were extremely reliable. Nothing treated. Also, over the time the weed had also come from different sources. Different weed. So don't tell me that it was laced. No one else in my group was having this problem.
Over the past couple of years, I have again done some internet searching to suddenly find that I am not alone. LOADS of people are reporting the same thing. Chronic users for many years to suddenly find themselves unable to smoke because of marijuana induced panic attacks. this is not the typical "weed paranoia" stuff. These are full-blown-I'm-gonna-die panic attacks.
The medical community has found in recent years through legitimate studies that chronic use of MJ in SOME PEOPLE lowers the trigger point for panic attacks, thereby inducing them. It is also attributed to modern day hybridization of marijuana which has resulted in MJ that is ten times or more powerful than the stuff I grew up with.
NOBODY can tell me that weed doesn't hurt you. IT DOES. I am proof. I have experienced it.
In addition to this, weed makes you complacent. It makes you lazy. It takes away your motivation.
Don't smoke it if you haven't atarted. Quit if you do.
