i dont think people should even label people as a race,especially between blacks and whites.There is always a highschool girl who's asian,and everyone calls her "the asian" or the then there's the "token black guy".I just dont get it why does it have to be this way? If I was to be completely honest, I'd have to agree with Oro. I think racism is hard-wired into us and may have been a useful survival tool long ago. Having said that, though, I also believe that racism needs to be tempered with reason and empathy in a civilized world, particularly now that the planet is growing smaller and smaller with new technologies which offer people of all races the ability co-mingle in ways that were not possible before.

My father was an out and out racist. I grew up with it and swore I would NEVER be like him. He was a disgrace to the human race.
Personally, I don't care what color the package comes in, it is what that package contains that is of far greater value than it's cover.
I am cocasion and have to say that in my experience, I am 60 years old so have quite a bit under my belt, most people will tollerate the ethnics but become jellous of them when they do better than they can. It is human nature unfortunately and until it is educated out of the human race, it will continue.
