does he do heroin' That would do it.
Or if he is getting the flu, or a cold. I could have been the chills. If he had a fever it makes sense.

It could be diabetes if he is thirsty alot, but his water has to be ice ice cold. Do his toes go numb. If he feels faint after not eating for a few hours... then it could be diabetes. Idk im not a doctor.... get a blood test.

If diabetes runs in the family and he's had these symptoms before, I'd be surprised if he hasn't had a glucose tolerance test run before. Also, as MeatCurtain said above, the symptoms you describe here don't really match the symptoms listed at any of the sites I researched on diabetes.

There are many possibilities, but he really should be seen by a doctor to make that determination, particularly if this has happened before. My first thought when I read this was "opiate withdrawal" because everything you describe here is consistent with the symptoms. However, if you are sure he's not a drug user, then the answer lies elsewhere. I hope he'll make an appointment soon.

 I'm actually a type 2 diabetic.

You can get the SHAKES if your blood sugar goes too LOW. But you don't feel cold.

I don't ever recall shivering and being cold as a symptom of diabetes. It could be that he is getting sick as Violent10 pointed out.

But of course we are not doctors here. Your friend should see a pro for help. Probably the flu or something of that sort.

I dont really know,If he has a cold he can shake like that i think it's called "the chills".i used to get that like once a year in the winter when i was a kid.It could possibly be caused by stress,he should get that checked out though, they have tests to see if your diabetic.I'm insulin resistant,so my doctor tells me.every waking moment of my life i crave water, and I have to have water by me all the time. I think I'm actually diabetic now,but my doctor says i'm not,so i ignore it.frankly i couldn't afford to buy all that medical crap anyway.atleast once a month I feel really sick, and i have to lay down,I throw up,and i can feel my heart racing, and pulse pounding. I'm taking it that's a sign of my blood sugar being too high. if he does have diabetes and ignores it for too long,he could go into diabetic shock, and possibly die.so just ask him if he has problems like me I guess.
