What do you think?
she reads harry potter books
my group of friends, we're all in our twenties and we were all hanging out in one of our friends apartments and she had a harry potter book lying on her her table it was about a stone i asked her if her neices had been over because she has neices that are ten and eleven and she said no and asked why so I pointed out the book and she said
'oh i was reading that.'

WTF? it's a childs book... you can tell from the cover the way drawing was on it and plus the books look thin enough to be a novel for twelve year olds and i know the books are for children i saw part of one of the movies once because my younger sister was watching it and even that looked childish there was a kid puking slugs

is she a loser or something? she is twenty three years old!

I've read the entire series. its not a kids book
Stargirl made a good point. It's not about how old she is, at least she is not wasting her time doing stupid stuff. I meaan, I will tell you that I don't read the Harry Potter book series and I tried the first one and wasn't interested somehow (gasp!!! lol). But hey, I mean there is no telling who can or cannot read a book; they are marketed for everyone. I don't think you should say that she is a loser. What she reads is her own personal thing and I bet you'd be surprised how many adults read Harry Potter! Honestly. The Harry Potter books go beytond just fictional characters, it is attention grabbing for young and adult readers alike.
I gotta say it might not be a childrens book but it sure as hell is a gay book lol...look at the facts

(1) Dumbledore is gay, no argument there ppl

(2) There allways prancing around playing with there "wands"

(3) Same as above only with brooms...

Btw, this was in fact a clever ruse so dont start aiming your wands at me and chanting wierd stuff, i got a bottle filled with holy whater and im not afraid to use it...ok Jack Daniels but im still not afraid to use it O_o)

peace JAH bless
I suggest you read it, and then comment. The first book was childrenish, with preteens considered maybe. She then grew up with her audience - for instance, a line in the final book:

"Not my daughter you bitch"
well at least she is reading.most people today wouldnt know what a book was if one was shoved up their ass crossways.
Actually I am Harry Potter.
So...I assume you read the series?

Just wondering, what (do you think) makes Harry Potter so popular to the readers? I mean I have tried to get into the series but then quit reading those books overall after I got through half of the second book. Maybe I just don't have a very creative/imaginative mind?
Oh okay, so it kind of fit into what you liked when you were a kid. It's kinda like looking back at it and living the fantasy through a book.

Well, glad you enjoyed it because I don't know if I was just too young or what at the time, but I couldn't get into them at all. And half the time I was somehow confused on the plot and events that happened. And now with the 7th book (I think) its probably too late to try to read all of them over again, lol.

But anyways, I like the more historical topics like the Civil War and such. I guess I'm more of a realist and like to read books on that kind of stuff. Also I love to read things on topics like modern issues and such. But thats just me lol.
It's not to late. A lot of people are reading them now. I wasn't ever going to read them because I saw previews for the first movie and thought they looked dumb. It was the part where McGonagall turns from a cat into a person.

But then my neighbour gave me the third book (I didn't know enough about the series to realize it was the third in the series) because she didn't want her little son reading witchcraft books. I read it and got right into it so I went and got the first and second books. I didn't enjoy them as much but you have to read them to understand the series. I was confused about some things in the third book. Then of course I had to go get the fourth book. I think the fifth book came out shortly afterwards.

I don't know why I love them. I always wished I was a witch too but I don't think that's why. I'm not one for fantasy stories either. I'm trying to get my mom to read them because she reads a lot but saw the first movie and hated it. The books are better than the movies.
