I've been here for a year!
Ok like the title explains, I have been on this site for over a whole year now! (I'm Barnum BTW) Well the anniversary was actually a few days ago on the 14th but nontheless, that is a long time to be one site.Unfortunately, I'm not so proud of the title. Of course my original number which was smithee (I'm the original smithee) was 4389. And in the past year, we have seen many characters come and go. Also, the number of peopel signing up has tripled! We also experienced the site slowly deteriorate by the coming of 2007 as imposters like the fatass smithees came on and chris ufc. We all know that story, no sense in me telling you how it all went down.
My main point here is that, when I first signed up last year in November, like I said on my posts, the site was great! It really was, there were hardly any flamers and you could hold intelligent banter with other members. Seriously! Look at old posts and notice how no one was like f**k off c*nt and the like. It is sad to see such an innovative and creative site like IIN get overrun with "rebellious" and crazy 13 and 14 year olds. A prime example is just to look at the newest posts, I mean is there anything worth reading? Honestly, it is troubling to see and I hope that you, Udi, can fix the site in a hurry. Because it appears now that it is being overrun and it looks like you can't even manage it Udi. Something needs to be done here and I bet a lot of users agree. I'm not saying it should be perfect because a little humor is needed.

But that site was devoted to serious writers who were entering their works in contests and asking for tips to develop their skills. This place is a bit different.
I'm lean a bit more towards Slack's opinion on how this site should be run. I would also like to see those under 18 discouraged from being members, but unless we require them to furnish some kind of proof of birth (which can easily be faked), then there's no stopping them, particularly when they see so many posts about penis size, teen sex, etc.
As for the racist, sexist, graphically sexual, etc. posts, I will defend people's right to say what they wish. I draw the line ONLY at posts which provide specific details on how to commit violent acts and graphic descriptions of pedopheliac acts -- the types of comments that would rise to the level of alerting Homeland Security or the police. Otherwise, what's to be done? This is an adult forum, and people should be able to discuss what they wish, even if some of us find it offensive. This is what living in a free society is all about.
