I really did not want to think badly of Slack, but after reading the thread that is referenced in this story, it's pretty obvious what kind of wicked game he's up to. I'm sure he thinks it's harmless because -- "Hey, nobody gets hurt!" But when you lie and manipulate people and pit them against one another, it's a form of passive aggression that causes confusion, distrust, and more disinformation which actually IS harmful in its own way.

I'm done with it all, at least for now. But my motto is "never say never", so I'm not closed to the idea of returning one day, perhaps after the first of the year. The people who have been be kind, thoughtful, and interesting here have made it very worthwhile. A shame that a handful of jerks make it so very difficult for so very many.
