I think religion is a stupid thing, like i'm really starting to hate it.
I was raised in a Catholic family(well we werent extremeist, by grandparents were though)
i was baptised and the first communion.
and i should have just had my confirmation. and two years ago i was all set on it, but then.
Recently i just started thinking it was narrow minded and pathetic and people who follow religion are fools. I went and researched other religions and all of them were foolish.
For example, the catholic religion i think in the 10 commandments it says, Though Shall not Lie. so go ask any catholic, they will say lying is bad. But if you were around in WWII when hitler was killing jews, and you were hiding two in your addict, and two natzis came up two you and asked if your hiding and jews and you said your not, is that a bad lie? I would think thats the right thing to do.
Please give smart answers back, telling me why you disagree with me, or why your with me on this. I'm agnostic by the way, not atheist.
And if you follow a religion, fine good for you, just explain why you do.
-by should be but
-i was baptised and had my first communion.
-not fools, but closed minded
-not "two" your door, to your door

You, too, Jesus.
If you want an example with ww2 tho, look no further than the Vatican's complete ignorance of Jewish persecution, with them being just too spineless to stand up to the Nazis, and their continued opposition to contraception and modern transition. fucking pisses me off.
I am a faithful catholic. I believe that religion is a key component to a persons life. I would not find the purpose of living if I didn't have the rules I should live by and the things i believe. remember that if you do sin, confession is always there. that was why it was invented. now, i am not saying that i am the best catholic ever but I do lie and commit sins. but you just have to be sorry for them. of course, the example you gave for lieing is in extreme cases, and I am sure that God would be proud of you for saving someone elses life, weather or not they were catholic too. of course, I don't know what God would say about that lie, but I wouldl lie for that too. all in all, religion is basically a way to live your life. after all, all this life is for is to prove to God that you deserve to go to heaven. Life would be nothing without something that you believe in. :D
When I see what is done in the name of religion, I cry too. But someone said "an idea isn't responsible for the people who believe in it".
I'm not sure about the fools. John Sebastian Bach? Martin Luther King? Desmond Tutu? I don't think you're a fool, but you need to learn wisdom.
i'm not religious, this is just my perspective on the motivations, most of the faithful will prob disagree with what i said
