If this place is so world famous then why do you feel like you need to explain what it is to non New Yorkers? Did you honestly think New York was the world?

Logically you wouldn't think you needed to explain what it was if it were world famous, because everyone in the world would know about it. I mean, if one guy from London and one guy from Hong Kong and one guy from Austrailia had each eaten there once and so various individual people from around the world knew about it, then it would be as world famous as the Gas station down the street where visitors from those places have also filled up at least once before returning to their home countries.
