my friend(s) are mean/abusive to their parents
I have had and do have some friends that yell at their parents and the parents just obey them, like slaves. for example today i was at my friends house and his mom and dad come home all happy and start telling jokes and i thought it was funny, then he yells at them to get out, and theyr like oooh ok sorry were soo sorry hunney. Then later he wants food and he yells at them through the house to get him food, and they do. Then after he took a piss and sat down at his computer, he yells at them to close the door, and they do (even though hes about 2 feet away and theyr about 1 room away).is this normal? did any of you do this when you were teens?

Id start by cleaning out their rooms..nothing but the bed left and take away cars and whatever else these ungrateful bastards had and see how long it took to break them.
my mom would have knocked my head off if I had talked to her in such a manner.and I believe in discipline today as a result of being raised correctly.

The biggest obstacle to good parenting these days is the blurring of the lines/boundaries between adults and children, resulting in parents who treat their kids more like same-age peers than young-adults-in-training. Since kids are naturally inclined to push boundaries anyway, treating kids like buddies seldom produces good results, as I've discovered myself the hard way.
