Diesel
I have a problem, which I am unsure about, and was wondering if anyone could shine light on the subject. I own a Ford Escort 1.8 Turbo Diesel, and it doesn't start on cold mornings, but my older 1.7Diesel Vauxhall Cavalier did start no problem, even on icy cold mornings. I just wondered if anyone had similar problems with the escort starting on the mornings. It is not the diesel heater plugs, as they have been replaced recently, as have the primer, the fuel pump, and many hoses which had rusty holes in them. Also the timing belt snapped last month, and the entire cylinder head had to be replaced. It seems strange how an older vauxhall diesel can start first time every morning, but a newer ford has great difficulty, and needs plenty of revving the engine before it will settle to an idle. Is this normal?

it does seem strange but ford diesels are notorously shite even turbo diesels. vauxhall diesel engine were made by a different company im sure, one of the four wheel drive people so theyre a bit better. maybe not, but get rid of the cunt before ye do more work on it and waste money
