Perhaps he thought the rest of your family was in the rest room or still in the car. Perhaps he figured that your family was meeting you there. Perhaps it's just a standard thing to ask when somebody orders something. Did you ever consider any of that? Perhaps you are the stupid person here. Your post seems to suggest that.
so what is the point???...
Mayebe some people could eat a family meal to themselves you cunt

I think you fail to understand that people in certain customer service jobs, such as restaurant workers and grocery checkers, ask the same questions of their customers over and over again, day in and day out. Many times, they are required by management to ask these questions in order to avoid any misunderstandings. Example: I often go to a place that serves only smoothies and small pastries. It's their custom to ask the customer for their name so it can be announced when the order is ready. The last time I was there, the server asked for my name even though I was the only customer in the restaurant. I thought this was odd, but I reasoned that: (1) he's probably been told to ask every customer for their name, regardless of the situation, and (2) it was remotely possible that another customer could have arrived during the three minutes that it took to prepare my order.

The bottom line is that no real harm is done when a server asks you a superfluous question. Better to ask too much than not enough. Most of these folks aren't particularly well paid for their labors, and the work is monotonous. Tolerating a "stupid" question seems like the least you can do to make their lives a little more pleasant, don't you think?

exactly, i'm sure the guy doesn't examine your meal and decide whether you want it to go or not

people get mad over the stupidest shit

Poster... there are many like you. Just because you come in and spend 10 bucks you think that gives you the right to act like an asshole. This is especially true with big franchises where sucking the customer's dick to avoid bad press is customary. If one, only one worker in a restaurant/cafe/wherethefuckever punches you in the mouth for being a cunt, you will never do it again. We can only hope.
