I THINK he said that she told him who she likes and it's not him. But what the heck. What's to be lost in asking her out? It's a 50/50 thing; it's either yes or no. If it's yes, you're fine. If it's no, you simply wait and try again some other day, if you wish. If you're not interested in her as a future girlfriend anyway, there's no risk to a crushing blow to your ego if she declines.
