Is It Normal?
What do you think?
Sockets
Here in the UK our electrical sockets have switches on them to switch the power on or off. I think this is a good thing, but I cannot stand to see the switches on if there is nothing in the sockets. Especially the switches that have a red bit on them when they are on. I have a compulsion to ignore whatever it is I'm doing and turn them off. I feel that they are up to no good. I hope I am not the only one, is this normal?

Rip em out and put American made ones in. Then you will have more time in you life for pickeling eggs and eating blood saucage and also looking for hot Brit chicks.

I love you.
Methos
plugs do seem to have a air of mystery when the power is on and the plug isnt in. american plugs are dodgy.

Ignore Meth...
This is completely normal, you have a tendency to conserve energy. It's not a bad thing either.
That is a really good idea. Being from America I didn't know some electrical plugs had that. It sounds much safer than our ones that are always one. I hope this idea catches on in the states.

And yes, that sounds normal.
Thanks guys, you've made me feel alot better. Also I had an American teacher who said you don't have switches over there, that has got to be dangerous. But at least you won't get pissed off when the switch is on eh.
Heyyyy!
man, all of you are much smarter than me. Also, here in M'merica, we can get these plugs as well. They are about 10 times more expensive than a regular one. If you mail me $300 or $400, I will replace all of them in my home.

I love you.
Heya, I'm the original poster. I was in physics class today and I saw a socket like that so I asked the teacher to switch it off as it was anoying me. Now the class probably think I'm weird, they don't seem to understand where this comes from. But I must say that when I explained my annoyance the teacher then found sockets like that annoying. I have GOT to be normal.
Sounds like you have a low-level OCD going on. No big deal though.
i have to do the exact same thing. when i see a switch that is on with nothing in it i have to turn it off. despite where the plug is. it could be in my home at work, wherever. so no u are not alone.
Ya normal, but current flow theory in the UK may not be.
