Read an article that stated that rap music sales have since 2000, declined by 44%. Rap has now almost become a parody of itself the way hair metal became in the 80s.

The only reason it's even part of the public spectrum is because MTV pumps it nonstop.

Some people are sensitive over criticism towards rap music because they see it as criticism towards black culture. But it isn't. Its criticism aimed towards a music genre that continuously has less and less to offer.

Personally I think it all went to shit a few years back when the started rapping about chickenheads...

I like your thought on it. It seems like people are afraid to stand up against rap because they are afraid they will be called a racist when in fact its a culture of all kinds of different races. All it represents is bad mouthing others, degrading women and supporting violence.

I enjoy all music, especially the music coming from the african american community. I find their vivid lyrics and snappy music quite invigorating!!

I actually agree that rap music is declining. Though I am a big fan myself I must confess, its simply not what it used to be.
