ANESTHESIA

MY DAUGHTER HAD OUTPATIENT SURGERY FOR BLADDER AND ENDOMETRIOSIS....IT HAS BEEN 36 HOURS SINCE SHE CAME OUT OF RECOVERY...SHE IS STILL THROWING UP...SHE HAS THROWN UP 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 HOURS....SHE HASN'T HAD PAIN MED. IN 5 HOURS AND HAS BEEN TAKING IT ALL DAY AND HASN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS...WHY IS SHE THROWING UP NOW. AND IS IT NORMAL?

By all means call her Doctor and ask HIM why this is happening ASAP! If the doctor is out I am sure an answering service there will forward your message to him.

Also many hospitals (hopefully yours too) have a free Ask-A-Nurse number that can will answer your medical questions.

Was this her first exposure to general anesthesia? some patients have a very severe reaction. it is very important that you keep her hydrated and call the doctor who treated her immediatly.

Yes it is normal. I threw up for a day after having my tonsels out.
why are you asking a web site where most of the ppl are 12.....call a doctor or pharmacy...it could just be a reaction to a med given
