I like this girl

Ok well i like this chick at school rite...
ive known her for a few years now but one day my best mate went and asked he out (This was a few years ago now he has moved away)
So a few years on she is in high school now andso am i.
I want to ask her out but i can't tell if she has a bf or not! Its not like she is a sl*t but she aint a tight hole either

I dont know if she has a boyfreind or not because wen ever she gets a boyfriend she tries to keep it a secret.

So should i ask her out or something or should i just back off?

No dont ask her out. have a conversation with her...and somewhere in that conversation make it a point to ask her ''where is man at'' then she either say i dont got one or he's home/school/work

k heres what i think
one: gurls like to be treated right if u want her to say yes just follow these simple rules one have a conversation with her be nice and while having the convo throw hints like i bet u were the smartest or prettiest depends on what u were talking about be cool gurls like that but not too cool that u cant have a decent conversation and then ask her if she has a man but no directly ask in a nice way like for example is the spot if being beautifully attached to u taken ?? or by any chance could u be single, although its not possible ?? and make eye contact and don't be too pushy or touchy or stuff u don't know her yet remember k i guess thats all update what happens plz
