Shooting in Butte, MontanaShotgun preteen vs. Illegal alien Home Invaders; Butte Montana November 5th.
Two illegal aliens, Raphael Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home.
It seems these crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine.
Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg shotgun.
Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.
When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.
It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he had taken from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David Burien of Pipestone, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.
The sheriff said there were no charges pending against Patricia Harrington. In fact in this area she is looked upon as a role model.

So in, say, 99 of those 100 daily cases, it's some thug who bought a gun legally and shot someone he didn't like, or some unarmed man (or simply someone who couldn't get to his GUN quickly enough) either dead or with severe wounds.
What you're doing is called "cherry picking" to make it seem as though gun controls are not only unnecessary, but are evil.
P.S. Yes, we all understand the subtlety of the euphemism, we're not all minuscule-minded gun-tottin', arsehole-tootin' rednecks..... LIKE YOU!!!!!!!!
As you said, without her skill in shooting, and the knowlege of where her father kept his gun, she would most likely have been raped and murdered. She appears, on the face of it, to have tried to merely disable the would be thieves. Again, great presence of mind I'd say.
The fact that they had previously murdered the owner of the gun they were carrying during a previous robery, speaks volumes. However, you cannot advocate this as a sensible way to behave. It just encourages the would be robbers to get themselves armed and be prepared to kill if caught. it becomes a vicious circle.
