I've been in a similar situation to you, I was also 20 with a little girl and a little boy on the way, and I continued studying. Your doing the right thing, You deserve way better than this and I know things will work out. Keep your chin up and take care of that little boy...You'll get that job you want, although even with an education it's sometimes hard to get the job you want. I really really hope everything works out for you dude, You sound like a nice guy with his head screwed on the right way and they sound like a bunch of numbnuts. I wish you all the luck in the world friend..........

I wrote the post and there is more. since her mother doesn't work she thinks that is the norm and that her dad works 2 jobs because he loves her. Her mother is a real bitch and thought that me going to school was a dumb idea. this coming from a womens which had a big enough ambitiion when she worked to work at a lunch line in a high school cafeteria. I also recieved an award for best student in my course study at my graduation and upon hearing this she replies "Oh, I recieved that in high school" and thats all she said which makes me seem like she is trying to down play that accomplishment I recieved. Her parents are not all there in the head and it seems that there is nothing I can do to convince her that all you need to do is pick me up on certain days for 1 month and we will move in together. When i told her this yesterday she jumped off the deep end and went with the old "see i knew everyone was right, you just wanted to be with me while you were in school and after you got out you weren't going to need me anymore." WTF was I going to school for''' she cant get that through her thick skull. I bet if her dad needed a ride she would find a way to pick his ass up but for me HELL NO. She thinks I dont want to move in with her because I was stupidly too tired to work a full 8 hours a day and go to school for 20 months to be able to get an apartment. When I told her I was going for Computer Engineering she said why dont you get a real job(which meant work my ass like some wetback and make 12 $ an hour doing warehouse work like her dumb ass father). Well F me!! I must be the worst guy in the world!!!!!! Her parents are the dumbest people I have ever met and it breaks my heart to think that she will take my son from me but I know if that happens, when I get a good job I am going to fight for joint custody if not full and show the courts what I have sacrificed to make myself better for which i thought that I was making myself better for US! she will still probably be a janitor making 300 dollars a month with no career goals so I am pretty sure the courts will see myside. Its just frustrating that I didn't see this when we first started going out. No she wont return my phone calls. My son is already pretty smart so I I have to one day explain this to him, I know that he will be smart enough to understand why I never wanted this to happen and why his mother is a jack ass!

Well, I always believe there are 2 sides, (maybe even more) to the story. I don't want to sit here and kick her back in, but from what you've written, it sounds like you are doing the best you can, and she doesn't want to face reality. She also sounds like she was very spoiled as a kid, and doesn't know what adult responsibilities are. I think you should get yourself a well paying job, and do what's best for you and your son. You aren't married, so no need to try and care for her. If you love her, and want a family, then you will have to be very open with her and tell her how you feel. Listen to how she feels too, and maybe you all can work something out, but for now, get your career going, and be sure to see your son. Good Luck.
