Is It Normal?
What do you think?
Painful,abnormal periods
I did'nt get my period until was in my early teens and at first they were really irregular....By the the time I was 18, I started having the most painful periods where I would go through a pad/tampon every hour; I get nauseous and/or vomit; I feel dizzy, light-headed; I have really bad headaches/see spots; and sometimes I would pass out and be out for up to two hours. I'm now in my early thirties and I still have these symptoms. I've been hospitalized at least twice for my "female problems". I've been on the pill for it, but it just made me sick and my boobs tender. I was once diagnosed with dysmenorrhea (or painful periods). My question is this: Have any other females out there experienced this and if so,what type of treatment did you get for it? (Only thoughtful, intelligent comments are welcome.)

i hear ye
i had something similar when i was about 16, it was really bad. i used to break out in sweats and lose the ability to walk, id have to go to sleep for 2 hours and id wake up and be fine, it was triggered when i took pain killers for some reason. the periods were really bad. what help me though was taking the pill but i had to try different ones to find the right one. after i took it for about 6 months, ive never (touch wood) had the problem again but the pill made me hungry all the time which i still have, so thats a down side BUT try different type of pill is what id suggest
OMG HAHAHA YOUR VAG1NA BL33DS LOLOLOLOLOLOL
I had read somewheres that there's an IUD/coil that releases hormones into the uterus for this kind of problem. Sorry I don't remember what it was called but you might want to ask your doctor about it.

I've tried at least 5 different types of pills, they all made me nauseous and my chest sore. I don't know if the pill is for me.

I have a friend that has really bad periods she says she always throws up and is sick the whole day. Mine use to be really bad i didnt get sick but i was in so much pain from cramps that i would have to lay in bed all day and usually would be crying. I got put on birth control for it and now im fine.
2 jeni-x
What type of birth control are you on?
I was on the patch i cant remember what it was called but i stopped using it like two years ago and i still hardly get cramps. But i wouldnt advise you taking it because i heard that they are causing heart attacks.
Have any of you ever tried buffering the minerals you are losing, say, starting a week in advance? My wife has similar symptoms, and though she still has them occasionally, taking iron supplements and the like have helped her alot. You are losing quite a bit of 'importants' through your periods. Try buffering them in advance.

Also, make sure you get enough PURE water daily. Not coke, pepsi, etcetera. Water.
Thanks ReAction...... I do currently take iron pills during, But now I'll take your advice, and try to take them in advance. Thakns alot.
bleeding is grosssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
my bff had problems like this!
turns out, she has Van Willeder brans (sp) disease, which is a form of hemophelia.
might wanna ask your doctors about this.
I get really bad cramps and throw up and get light headed sometimes during my period. I have yet to pass out, and it actually hasn't happened to me in awhile.
I haven't talked to the doctor about it because I see it as semi-normal in my family, since my sister does it too.
Eh. I don't know, but damnnn.
you should definitely see a doctor, sweetheart.
Im a physician and thee may be several causes for your pain. you need to consult with your doctor, there is know way that a diagnosis can be made from these symptoms however it is possible you have hormonal issues that can be treated.
I have a friend that has like this same thing and she got the depo shot...could this help this girl?
