I have "been with" a few employees, as the boss it is odd afterward and you always afraid if you have to for some reason let them go (like a smelly pussy will get you fired to hell with if your doing a good job) so I havetried to refrain from it.

Not normal and its really a bad idea. If you decide to part ways there will always be problems between you and this will get in the way of you job. Date away from work. Unless of course your just getting a nice quick screw in because you both cant handle it anymore.

Something most people avoid for various reasons that drama tv usually shows (There's trouble so you have to leave your job, it's against the rules so your fired, if they are already committed etc).
I wouldn't advise it but if your really in love with someone then decide what is more important, him/her or your career.
