OH. DAMN!!! Yes!!!! Kung Pow indeed! It's one of the most underappreciated comedies ever. It's rare that anyone ever mentions it. Thanks for giving it some props. I'm forever quoting from it whenever I get a chance.
Mayor: Er, Master Betty, what is the Evil Council's plan?
Master Betty: Nyah. Haha. It is EVIL, it is so EVIL. It is a bad, bad, plan, which will hurt many ... many ... people ... who are good. I think it's great that it's so bad.
yeah donny darko and ed wood are good but among the greatest ever......>?Im not so sure.Godfather part 3 killed that series.shaun of the dead is good yeah but among the best ever? Come on youre kidding.and cloverfield....? Please
Citizen Kane always wins top picture of all time in poll after poll but Ive never seen it.
You're certainly right about Citizen Kane -- my "oops" on that.
I thought Donnie Darko was outstanding on all fronts -- acting, cinematography, plot, direction, screenplay, originality, and just plain weirdness, so it definitely makes my top 100 list. And I think people underrate Godfather 3, largely because of Sophia Coppola's acting, which I didn't find that unforgivable. Shaun of the Dead ranks high on my list for the same reasons as Donnie Darko, particularly because I think that Simon Pegg is a very gifted, natural actor. Cloverfield just shook me to the core -- you either like the hand-held video camera technique with the jerky, edginess inherent in the style or not. I was just completely bowled over by the way the sets were designed -- it was incredibly realistic and profoundly frightening, at least to me.
