When a boy takes out a condom and starts wearing it, does that meant that he want's to have sex with you or can it mean something else.

I want to know because this boy took out a condom and he knew i wasn't ready for sex so i freaked. I just want to know if i freaked out for no reason.

basically what other uses are there for a condom on a boys dick if it's not used for sex?
