I agree, you are more mature than your friends. The friends you make are inevitably going tobe a reflection of you, and that's why you feel responsible when they do stupid things. If you don't like the way that they are going, you should start making new friends.

It works both ways...lets say you have a friend that saved a baby from a fire or something. You would feel a kind of pride knowing that you are their friend and people associate you with them. Now when your friends do stupid things like what you are talking about you feel people associate you with them and thus associate their actions with you also. Yes it is normal and I agree you should find new friends that compliment your personality, but I know this is hard to do in school. Keep your head up and show people through YOUR actions that you aren't like your friends.

I want you to try and break out of your Self-absorbed world. You must realize that there are many people in the world. Chances are none of these people will ever remember you even if you are the craziest in the class. Is everyone watching you?

I find myself often being embarassed for other people. Like when Ashley Simpson did a hoe-down on SNL...I went straight to bed without saying one word to myself.

I agree with everyone else. You do seem a lot more mature than your friends. Have you tried talking to them to let them know how they make you feel? If they are truly your friends, they will care enough about your feelings, to stop. If they don't care enough to stop,I would do what everybody else said and make some new friends.
