I was just thinking about global warming today, and I thought why are we the ones that get blamed for global warming? we don't make the cars, and obviously it the emissions that cause most of global warming. I could choose to not drive i guess, and be an annoying old cat lady living on social security. I also thought about something some guy told me about how in the bible it says that in the "end times" the weather will be weird. Older people tell me they never remember it being so hot, and it's like 70 degrees here, when normally its suppossed to be like I dunno 35. So in other words, if they want us to stop global warming, why can't whoever makes the product do the dirty work for us?

I think the only things that will save us are majot new technologies like advancements in solar power, or effective waste disposal.
Also, changes in retail and education materials. Large scale stuff.

Industries in australia and Im sure worldwide are trying to do their bit but it takes time and money. All of us should do a little bit to help. These companies make the products we use and cannot and should not have to go without so whatever small things we can do will help dont just pass the blame onto someone else we are all to blame for this

Evolution is for organisms. The environment does not adapt, it just reacts.

The patterns of climate are always changing on earth, IF you follow the ice age patterns however, you will find that theoretically things are supposed to be getting colder, not warmer, if I remember correctly.

The only way to assume if it is a good thing or a bad thing is to believe in fate, and I clearly don't.

Evolution-wise people who want to deny basic biology in favor of a human-centric view of nature might say that the warming might be a good thing- well, its my opinion it would cause more harm than good.
A few things that would happen are
ocean currents would change, which could leave britian as cold as greenland and the east coast of the US as hot as florida- this would be a disaster economically.
Changing climates would drastically throw off established trade.
Farming would become a much more risky task.

The ecology of our planet earth goes through turns. There have been several ice ages throughout history that scientist are able to pin point. The ice shelves of the north and south pole expand and contract as a matter of course throughout history.

The biggest single cause of man made polution/global warming IS NOT what we as individuals do, it is down to industry. If every human did his/her bit to help, it wouldn't make as much difference as shutting down one coal fired generator of electricity!

Yes, we should all do our bit but, until you get countries like America and even more so, China to adapt their industries to a less poluting form, we may as well not bother as individuals.

The most relevant thing to global warming, as the scare mungers like to call it, is the magnetic fields of this planet. Most of you may not be aware of it, but these are going through the throngs of changing so that what we now recognise as magnetic north, will no longer be in the northern hemisphere but in the southern hemisphere. THAT is the biggest factor in the weather changes we are seeing at this period of evolution. There is a school of though that claims this is what took this planet out of the last ice age and the current transformation from the north to the south will actually plunge us into another ice age.

That is a completely different synopsis from global warming.

As the ice caps currently melt, they are releasing gasses into the atmosphere that we cannot control. THEY are what are causing the hole in the ozone layer, not our activities, although we are certainly contributing in a small way.

The temp as went up .7 degrees in the last 100 years. Mans CO2 out put has not been enough to make one difference in the climate anyone who buys into this has failed to research the subject. The .7 is not from us by the way. The Earth has cycles that we dont understand all the way. The earth gets hot then it gets cold then it gets hot... so on.

yeah, I meant to put the period there. What I was saying is that theoretically it should be cooling now, instead of warming. If you think about it, .7 is a sighnificant amount for 100 years, 50 of which were probably insignificant in most of the world pollution-wise.
I DO disagree with the constant hurling of blame to consumers and not producers. It is unrealistic and almost unfair to target me blame when I spend what I earn to maximise my life quality. The blame should definitely lie with producers and manufacturers, and even with heads of retail.

An example of retail is that I work in a bookstore- and every day 100 pounds, no joke, in my small store alone, of paper get thrown out. There are 3000 stores in the country in that company. Then there is the 10000s of other stores, with selections 100 times greater... thats a whole lot of fucking trees.

The thing is, especially especially with magazines, which are being restocked and have their covers torn off for refunds every day, that they don't ever make it off the shelves. Alot of people don't see how much left overs get thrown out in resturaunts, or how many books have their covers torn off and are thrown out, because they are sucky books or because they were written by a fallen overestimnated celebrits etc...

the only way to fix things like that is to cut production, and nobody wants to do that because of prices.

If its drilled here and processed her then it will become a cheaper market here in the states and if we can open our market to selling it over seas we could put a hurting on the competetion and imporve our economy big time.
