No, this is not normal at all. This girl obviously has codependency issues or has other problems that make her suicidal and she's using the end of a short relationship as an excuse. She also may be using the suicide threat as a way to manipulate her SO into staying with her. Either way, she needs serious help.

I'm hoping this girl hasn't done it yet. Tell her parents, tell a school counselor, tell any adult. Just get her help!

I agree with the first guy. I had a girl threaten to kill herself if I left her in highschool. I dumped her anyway, she left a few insane messages on my awnsering machine then got over it. I heard she's a manager at a Starbucks now.

Well the talk of suicide in that situation is usually a highlevel threat and a lot of times they'll get over the guy and move on after bawling her eyes out for days weeks or months... however she sounds like she needs some warm loving support from friends and family. Suicide IS a serious issue afterall.

no, i dont think anyone would commit suicide over a relationship...there are usually deeper reasons. Her/his threats shouldnt keep you from leaving the realtionship if you want to...just dont be cruel abt it and try to stay supportive
