It is actually a very simple thing to understand. Gay guys do not pose a sexual risk to a hetero girl and they feel more comfortable knowing they will not be approached for anything of a sexual nature. Girls who are insecure, or immature often feel uncomfortable with sex and are more secure around gay guys since there is no need to address sexual issues. As a hetero girl matures, the girl hetero gay guy relationship tends to drift apart. Hope this helps.
