It's pretty rude; maybe you shouldn't stare so openly. A lot of times, their parent or caregiver will decide to embarrass you, so it's not worth the fascination.

Its normal to stare at something out of the ordinary. And going along with the high pitched crying thing, when I was in 7th grade we had a tornado drill and this one girl was crying as described in an earlier post and I was trying so incredibly hard not to laugh.

I have to use a white cane and glasses when I walk around. I just thought all those out there who laugh at people with disabilities should know how painful it is to be laughed at. When I get 'can you seeee meeeeee???' chanted at me, or stares, it reflects much worse on those staring than it does on me. I find it ironic that while I might have trouble seeing them, they sure as hell cannot see themselves. What for you might be a joke, or a one off giggle, is yet another moment of unnecessary pain for someone who experiences that laughter constantly. I feel that the real disability lies in your lack of compassion, not in the way a %u201Cretard%u201D looks.

Because I'm not blind, I have sensory integration disorder. It means that my eyes and ears work, but my brain has a hard time interpreting the outisde stimuli. When I'm in my room on my own, when it's quiet, I can read and hear, but if I try to cross a road I'm effectively unable to hear or see.
