MOM
Me and my mom get along okay i guess. but now that shes got this new boyfriend shes always mad. and he hates us. he threatens to kick our asses sometimes and my mom just sits there. The other day i got "caught" on the phone when i wasn't supposed to be on it and he got soo mad that he took BOTH of our HOME phones to his house. (he doesn't live with us)...Now because of him my mom will not let me do any thing. SHe disconnected our house phone because she felt i didn't need to talk on it and i have alot of people i talk to. My boyfriend included, and she took away my radio and i can't go anywhere. Is this the way a normal mom should act? I mean when she first got together with him she said it was only if we liked him but the other day she said she didn't give a shit because it was her life and we (my brothers and i) were ruining it....i am 16 and i have brothers that are 17,9, and 13....

I am very sorry that your mom is letting that asshole cloud her vision. As a mother her children should come before her needs and wants. You need to tell an adult or an authority because somethign needs to be done about this situation before it gets worse. Good luck.

I agree that police action seems logical since this man sounds like that type to be violent. But know that if you do get the police involved, you may be legally taken from your home (whether you like it or not) by childservices. If escape is your plan, then talk to your siblings, get them on your side, and all leave together to the police (since you obviously cant call).

If this seems like too much, talk to someone at school (aka:teacher you like) and get their advice.

that is some fucked up shit, you need to tell someone about it someone you trust and can help you, maybe a teacher you trust or you can go to the cops, but like what said before you have a likely chance of being takin away, or since your 16 you can get amancipated (sp?)

This situation sounds really dangerous. If at all possible, maybe your brother who is 17 - hopefully turning 18 soon - would be able to take custody of you and your brothers. I know that it would take a lot of work, but this is very abnormal behavior, especially from a parent. Your mother probably has problems with feeling insecure - maybe this boyfriend of hers makes her feel loved. In any case, I would go to the police with brothers in tow. Just remember - you are not ruining her life, she is doing this to herself. If you need to leave, then that is a decision that you make so that you and your brothers can be safe!

this is a totally serious situation. it's gross and profoundly serious emotional and psychological abuse, and it could soon lead to physical abuse. please don't tell the police yet - if they come looking for your mom's boyfriend, that could make the situation worse, not better.

depending on your state, guidance counsellors have a professional obligation to keep your stuff confidential. talk to one. they will have contact information for different people you can talk to about this. these people will talk to you and help you figure out your next steps.

there are also help lines you can call, like 1 800 4 A CHILD. it's 24 hours.

if your counsellor is a dork, talk to someone. a family member you can trust, a friend's parent, a teacher.

either way, please don't do this alone. seek the support of someone else.

You need to think of a good plan to get him out of the picture. Somehow make your mom not like him anymore. Set him up to cheat and get caught. Maybe get together with your 17yo brother. This guy sounds crazy and like he has control over your mom. You could say that he tried to have sex with you or one of your brothers. Make him look like the crazy fuck that he is.

I have often noticed this amongst humans as well, not as pure murder for then the murderer would have to go to jail (not in his interest). But as psychological and sometimes even physical violence. Often the doer is checking how far he can go until retaliation starts to become uncomfortable, beginning by mild psychological violence and slowly stepping it up.

You kids are very clearly in the mans way.
If he could get rid of you without retaliation by other people and the government he would do so in an instance.
Then your mom would be completely his.
