Neuroticism -

I finally decided to comment on this! Everyone's reaction to their personal encounter with death is very different and varifying, because we're all on different sheets of music. I'm sure there are others who can relate to you, but even their experience is different. It's not abnormal to feel this way and it's not abnormal to feel any other way either, about it. You may have learned some things about yourself in that instant, but you're overlooking it. Death shouldn't make Life seem pointless, but it often does for many of us. Myself included!

The best anology I heard for Death was "Death is like the largest lotto and everyone's got a winning ticket." paraphrasing.

So the things you may have learned about yourself is that you shouldn't put all your eggs in your basket and that you're not an immortal being, we can all die very quickly anytime for any reason. I'm not saying dismiss what happened, but learn to accept that life can be very short lived.

I don't walk around constantly thinking on it (I enjoy life) and I do take smart procaution: Don't walk down allys or in bad areas, keep your house like a fortress and carry a big fucking gun, act like you're insane or very fucking mean. I carry pepper spray!

I keep aware of my area as I'm walking. I make senarios in my head if someone sticks a gun in my face, I'll shift my entire body to his side and grab the gun and break his arm, then shoot him in the knee cap (works with knives too, except you put your foot/knee in his balls or throw the knife into his eyes, and neck)

Read your law about self-defense, when it's legal to kill and when it's not.

Stick in highly public areas, lots of traffic, but keep your money away from pick-pockets or chain-drive wallet with secure clip (ones that are hard even for you to get off)

Learn Martial Arts.

Don't feel bad about feeling numb, at least you didn't go paranoid and become a recluse (I hope), some do that.

Good Luck!

one time i almost died drowning. i didnt have my life flash before my eyes, i wasnt thinking "God, I want to live!!!". No. I was pissed off. I was thinking it was a really stupid way to die, and i was pissed off, like the way you would be if you just missed a train or something. so i totally relate to the feeling.

but as far as what happened to you, alot of people dont realize that having a gun pointed at you can be a life changing experience. if it starts to effect your life, if you really feel changed, depressed, whatever, talk to someone about it.

I actually think this is normal. Some people have a high tolerance for becoming excited. It takes more to scare them or excite them. Perhaps you didn't beg because subconsciously you knew that might put you at a higher risk. Maybe you were confident things were going to turn out for the best, that you'll live so there was no point in all the dramatic life flashing shit. You had such big balls at that moment that you actually thought "my life is pointless". I don't think you're numb or dead as you'd like to believe.

When i was nine i was delivering the newspaper, it was a crazy winter storm and painful to look forward for all the snow was blowing in my face.
Then i walked on a light pole.

Didnt change my perspective though.

Ur fine, u'll get over it. Its no big deal, I was on the floor with a gun to my eye socket, and I moved right before the assh*le pulled the trigger, and thats as far as I go with that story (I'm now partially deaf in my right ear), But I didn't feel anything either. Infact to this day it doesn't even bother me. But I did have an experience of almost drowning and I had a sh*t load of thoughts about things I did and didn't do, and the last thing I remember thinking before I woke up on land was "Holy sh*t This can't happen to me, not like this, wat a b*tch way to die." Now that changed my perspective on life. So don't worry.

What you need is a Cock Ring. For protection.

You can "hand out Beat-downs" then pleasure the chicks after the bludgening has ended.

maybe you are fulfilled with your life. still have lots of things to do, but so far you have probably done what you have wanted to..
honeslty, that thing on "watching all your life in front of your eyes like a movie" seems like bullshit to me. i believe that if there is enough time to think anything at all, maybe one might remember the wife, kids, work, friends or stuff like that... but not like all your life in front of yourself

If you had gone to ninja school you could have whipped his arse. You didnt have time to think bad thoughts because it happened too quick and your life would not have flashed before you unless he actually shot you. Just seeing a gun wont do that. Buy a lottery ticket
