Im in almost the same situation, just go for it i know i will cos its doing me more damage mentaly than rejection would and if someone beats you to it then it wont be easy, iv been there too.

but yeah, just concentrate, focus on yourself and tell yourself "I'm a good-looking, intelligent, and attractive guy. I can do this." Build up your self-confidence, that way when you ask her out, you'll seem sure of yourself and are more likely to get a favorable answer. =)
