It started out t when i was nervous but only to calm me down but now it seems i'm chewing gum all the time from when i get up to right before i sleep there's always some kind of gum in my mouth. Is this normal?
I use to suck my thumb as a small kid. Later I would chew on drinking straws and would hold a pencil in my mouth during exams. Now as an adult I constantly chew gum too.
You may be chewing enough gum to actually alter the acidity of your stomach: it reflexes to your chewing motions (so it can produce acid to dissolve your food) - but you don't swallow, so it just sits there festering and creates ULCERS and any possible side affects on your digestive system: you can also get laxative effects from your gum (check the packet). I suggest taking up smoking ;)
I chew gum all the time too, and to not make myself feel bad about it I chew Orbit White so my teeth can get whiter while im relieving stress and chewing for whatever reason.
In my professional career i have delat with many people such as yourself, obviously you are sufering from extrem anxiety and strees, i would recomend drinking A LOT of coffee with 3 sugars, for every piece of gum you want to chew. This will make you feel so overly-hyper you will completely forget about wanting to chew gum. No need to thank me.
you might just need to get a good lay.
Gawd, look at kids at school, half of us are chewing gum, probably evgen right now
do you ever get a sore jaw? cos when im stressed i grit my teeth and it makes me get cramps in my jaw
(okay everyone now its time to make jaw-cramp jokes)
