Break Up with Girlfriend because she's Racist?
I'm an 18-year-old male. My girlfriend of two months has lots of great qualities, but I've recently discovered that she considers herself "a little racist". She has at a time said that most blacks are criminals, then changed her mind and said that most criminals are black. In addition, she believes that blacks should blame themselves for slavery because there were some black slave-dealers in Africa who sold their own people into slavery. It pretty much made me sick. She has basically expressed that she's not going to change, and went so far as asking me why I'm with her if I'm so disgusted by her racist beliefs. This didn't make sense, as I never really knew that she was seriously racist until now, although now that I look back, I've jokingly called her racist before based on some statements and stories she's said. Some have told me outright to dump her, as they believe it is horrific, while others have said to see if her good qualities outweigh the bad ones. This would be a really tough judgement to make. My questions is: Should I break up with her based on her beliefs? I'm only 18, but I can't picture myself marrying or starting a family with a racist, and even if that's not the first thing on my mind, I believe that's part of the point of dating. So should I "waste time" with someone who I would not seek a further relationship with, or find someone else?

"Racism" is actually the normal human condition. Anti-racism has been imposed upon us as a result of our schools and media spewing out lies and half truths,surpressing scientific facts., and imposing white guilt.
Your girlfriend should be respected for not being afraid to state common sense, and for understanding that there are inherent differences among the races.
However, to hate another because of their race is inexusable. We can judge each race collectively, but we cannot judge each individual based solely on race. If your girlfriend hates others for just being Black, then you must dump her.
If her comments suggest she understands general inherent racial diferences, but she still realizes that great people come in all races, then you have a truly enlightened girlfriend.
