Is It Normal?
What do you think?
Bathroom Talk
Why do co-workers insist on starting conversations while in the bathroom?

Is this normal for people you don't normally speak with at work to strike up a conversation at the urinal? Or is this only my office?

It's normal for you to think it's wrong to talk whilst whizzing.
It's not normal to talk whilst whizzing.
Avoid eye contact in the men's room, and don't freaking speak. Chances are good that the dude making chit chat wants to slob on your knob in the stall.
"Oh hi there!" My boss said as he entered the cramped bathroom. He opens the door to the only free stall and continues to talk to me whilst taking a piss. "I was going to talk to you about the backups last night, what was the deal there?" I uncomfortably "um'd" and "ah'd" whilst I desperatley tried to piss. I finally stammered an answer, but I desperately hate people that talk to you in the john.

They do that in my office too. I work for the Gay Times though.
Women always talk in the bathroom. Even total strangers. It's a major difference between the genders. My husband tells me that men don't; it's just not done. But women will share makeup tips, bitch with you about the boss, and comment on the surroundings. Amazingly different.

Is that why you go in groups?
yeah it happens to me alot but it's SO FREAKING WRONG. i hate that. and guys if theres noone else there pick the urinal close to the wall, that way the next guy that comes in doesnt have to be next to you SHEESH

This happens to me at clubs and I can't stand it. No matter what, the drunkest guy in the club will come in and stand right beside me and you would think I was his best friend. Basic rule..It's like an elevator. Have you ever noticed that 15 people will get on an elevator, and not a word is said. Well, that's the way the men's room should be.
It's a time for them to connect with each other (man woman)
