Is it normal for me to hate all you internet users who butcher the english language?
Although it can drive one bonkers, the weird thing is that the brain can still process all this, including what you wrote. So I have learned to be more tolerant of the internet shorthand, text message styles, and misspelled words, which we all do from time to time. But if I were a teacher and this was a classroom project, I would have a field day with the red pen! Lighten up my friend!
Make it a life goal. You are not alone, we are out in force and we will save the dignity of language.
The sad thing is you have probably paid a small fortune in taxes to educate these cretins.
o yeh a lyk im cos e iz mah twinny n if ya got sumink 2 say den say it 2 mah face. vix is mah b-m8, tori iz mah twinny, brad iz fyn
whats with exchanging 'i' for 'a' in a sentence, or 'my' for 'mah'? i really dont follow that. Also they put so many symbols in their names i cant concentrate...
i talk to them on msn and they all list thier friends in their display name.
They used to sit me by a dyslexic girl in history... that was a mistake. and i was in a pub quiz last night and my uncles writing the answers down, everyone leans over to agree with him "oh yeah, thats it john!2 and stuff, im like..."erm, wasnt there a 't' in 'interflora, John?"
they made me swap seats

it would not return something like h0w t0 h4ck sc001 r3c0rdz.
This kept them from being tracked down.
The point of this is that I know some people who have a legitimate reason for typing like this sometimes. Computer geeks will do it for the historical significance. Private forums will do it to keep their sites away from a search engine top result for the real words. There are certain instances when I feel it is okay to write like this (punctuation would still be nice). I do agree with you that a lot of idiots out there just think that it makes them cool and have no appreciation for language, 1337 or English.
Oh, guys too.
It pisses me off too. I can't lighten up, bad grammar is lame! I do my best not to make isitnormal posts about it though :P
use a condom it fails 30% of the time, so be sure she's not near her PERIOD.
But, I can see and understand the using of the letters y, r, u, n, o, ok, for simpler words. I don't use them myself, but I do get why others do.
Why people kill the English language I do not know. Even if a person just writes like that on the computer, it still hurts the actual language. Dumb people.

*If my comment offends you, just remember, it's my own oppinion. You don't have to agree with it.*
RASAP
People often say %u201CBut it's quicker and everyone does it%u201D
a) If you learn to type properly it's not quicker (I find it slower as I have to think of ways to randomly mutilate words)
and b) Maybe everyone you know does it, but I don't associate with idiots.
And yes, I use proper spelling and punctuation in text messages as well. It takes slightly longer to send but it's worth it not to look like a spastic.
When I do use internet slang and txt speak it's because I'm being ironic or sarcastic. I find it really helps sarcasm. %u201Clolz u r so clever!!11one%u201D. Apart from that I speak British English and I'm damn proud of it.
