19 Never Had A Job Living At Home

Alright here's my problem I've lived in the same place my whole life with my parents, they've given me pretty much everything I've wanted in life which im thankful for. But,I think they've given me a little too much for too long. I've never had a job,and now I want to get out on my own and stop being a mooch. But since I have no experience I have no idea where to start,i've had a couple interviews here or their but I never am able to answer the questions correctly. Also I am a GED recipient I never graduated which also makes it harder. I am going to be attending college in a few weeks but I dont really get the point of going right now because even if i graduate who is going to hire me without any work experience of any kind, some advice would be useful, Thanks.
Do you think it's normal?

It would be easier just to stay at home and live off your parents.
It's very interesting to question how can you be usefull, somehow, working at any job. Reality is, if your parents are willing to give you a complete college education , foolish not to take advantage of it. Study ,then think where to work>
Certainly go to college, especially if your parents are willing to pay for it. Look for part time work on the campus you will be attending, as in the book store or in the cafeteria.
yah listen to bartender and freedomof....those are the good advices to start with...the easy ways are to work at your campus like freedomof said...people in there mostly are the people at your age..
Get your education and look for part time work if you need the money and/or if it will boost your morale. You will have likely 40 years to work once you graduate from college, so put work aside and focus on school. I strongly suggest you visit the career placement center at your college and inquire about internships. Most do not pay a salary, last several months, likely over the summer, but are invaluable. They will give you experience and you will get your foot in the door to get hired full-time by an employer. You will also get to know exactly what the job will be like to work in a particular field for a company and get to gauge whether it is truly for you or whether it is not a match. School qualifies you to apply for job positions, it doesn't introduce you to the real working world. Focus on education and look into internships that will give you experience and you can add it to your resume. Remember to apply early for the internships, they are often easy to land especially if a salary is not being paid. Good luck!!!
Go to college. Emmployers like the fact that you've put time and effort into somethinge. Don't go for the big jobs yet. Start with retail stores such as tescos for job experience. After you've gotten your qualification you can either get a better job using that qualification or you can study more in a university to get an even better job. This will all help fill out your CV.
Ok, well Im in school now, going to get my license , and still have yet to find a job. I think i'm failing at life because who is going to hire me I'm going to be 20 in two months and still no job? I assume that employers are going to interview me look at my experience and just shut me out because the other applicants even those with the least job experience have more than me. I'm not a very outgoing person when i first meet people,so I'm not too good at interviews.
no affence but u sound a bit spoilt.
i think it is gd that u r trying.
even though u r 19 there is still a point in going 2 college. i already go part tym n u meet ldz of new ppl and have a laugh. depending on what sort of course u r doing at college they might get u 2 go on work experience.
Sell stuff from home on the internet.
Go to college and get an internship or a work-study job. Maybe both (not at the same time, though).
I'm 18, graduated, and am job hunting. I'm thinking Waste Management, they pay really good, it'll keep me in shape and not only that, great dental and medical.

But I think I have to be 21 first so I can actually drive the truck around, laws and regulations, etc.
I'm almost 40 myself, so I think I'm in a position to give some good advice.

look, the point is that if you dont get moving, in the year 2027 u will be posting the exact same thing. All you will need to do is change the age from 19 to 39.

Scary huh? hey, hold on, my mom's calling me from the living room, gotta go...
get a job... but live with the rents for a little
I didn't get a job until I was 20. As in last year. Try to get a retail job around the holidays, they'll hire anyone.
After you get a degree you could work at a restaurant or something till you find a good paying job
You have no future.
