A good way to really help her is to try and match her with other kids, perhaps ones who are 2-3 years younger than her, on a similar intellectual level, and let her make friends of her own. If her social skills are lacking, there are group counseling meetings for adolescents and younger kids to help develop social skills. You will have to do some work in tracking down such groups, but inquire about group counseling for kids that builds social skills. Groups may meet once or twice a week over a period of a few months or longer. Group counseling is a great approach because people with common issues learn of ways to overcome obstacles and develop skills.
