Obviously he thinks alot of you and he is willing to make a go of the relationship so I would hang in there if possible with him. It sounds as though he has been totally honest with you about everything and that is certainly a good sign. Some men would just say they love you even if they didn't mean it so its obvious to me he respects you alot.
