it is actually little air pockets under them causing a different look to the nail. They say once the nail grows more, the nail evens out and gets a flatter surface (thats why they go away sometimes).

I get the white spots to on some of my nails. I never knew what it was.

I always thought it was caused by bruising.

I heard the white spots are actually from having too many vitamins. I think it was Zinc. If you have too much zinc your body then it comes out in spots on your fingernails. Sounds like a load of crap to me.

However, if you are talking about the filth that gets under your nails that you have to clean out with the end of a nail file; I reckon that is mostly skin flakes. If you scratch your head then the white skin flakes get under your nails. Same stuff as dandruff. If you don't like it then cut your nails shorter and clean them more often.

i heard that the white stuff was a sign that your body is lacking calcium...i would recommend driking more milk.

well i would agree with alot of calcium and airpockets cuz i drink alot of milk and anyone can get airpockets in their nails

the first one i heard was lack of calcium which i didnt believe cuz i love milk and drink tons of itbut i almost always have one on almost all my nails i wish i could get rid of them
