Stargirl, I would contest the idea that all sadists lack compassion. I am a (very mild) sadist myself, but I would never take pleasure from pain that was not enjoyed by the 'victim', and I pride myself on being an extremely compassionate person. Who's to say that the poster here isn't like that too?

I would like to have a little more context from the poster - do you enjoy pain that the sufferer is okay with experiencing? Because if so, then there are a lot of masochists who enjoy experiencing pain as well, so best of luck having a relationship with one.

If you enjoy people's pain just because you don't like people in general, or because you want people in general to suffer, then I would say that that was mean and you should talk to someone about it.
