I killed my gerbil
I had a gerbil named Skippy, and I loved it. I would feed it miscelaneous foods and he enjoyed some of them and others he would sniff and leave alone. Its favorite food was chocolate. One day I have him a big corner piece of a chocolate bar. It ate it up while I was watching and thinking how cute he was. Then he started twitching, and I picked it up. A few munites later it died in my hands and I cried.
The friends that heard this story said it was a learning experience, but one said I commited animal cruelty and my parents could be fined if the Aspca found out. I loved my gerbil and I didnt mean to kill it but does that make me cruel to animals?

no, it doesn't make it cruelty to animals, but you should be careful with what you feed to pets. Chocolate is bad for some animals.

You weren't intentionally trying to hurt the animal, so I guess it couldn't be considered cruelty. Just don't feed any other animals chocolate.

Wow, normal guy has an IQ WAY under normal. A gerbil is a small mouse-like thing with a fluffy tale, sometimes known as a desert rat, Meriones unguiculatus.(hope my Latin's right).

When I was little, I stuck a baby chick into a toy airplane.
I thought it could be a good pilot, since I saw a rooster pilot in a cartoon I was watching before the incident.
My parents had to destroy my airplane to pull the chick out.
Thats when I really learned cartoons are not that real.

*sniff* I had a hamster.....He got tumors in his back legs, and blind in one eye.....one morning my mom told me he had died, so I've never had pancakes again...then I got a dwarf, but he was so fat that he looked like a normal one.....then he died too...I've learned not to have hamsters anymore...

Chocolate has a chemical in it that makes it very poisonous to animals, and if you feed them too much, they will die. This was innocent and out of ignorance, and I'm sorry this had to happen, but next time, don't feed animals human food, okay?

Humans and animals are worlds different in chemistry and biology, what they can eat we can't and what we can eat, they can't. k? K.
