I know that this sounds harsh, and it may be very hard to stop, but instead of making people think "oh poor guy, he needs help" they tend to think "He's sooo doin it for attention". Up to you matey.
Cutting causes the release of chemicals called "endorphins"... they're morphine-like chemicals that your body uses as its own natural painkiller. Although it's very unlikely that you'd get physically addicted to endorphins the way you would with morphine, it's very possible to get psychologically addicted... which is often what's happened when a cutter starts cutting for no reason. If you can, please try to stop or at least not do it unless you really need it... you may find the "Bodies Under Seige" online support group to be helpful.
To the person who implied it was all about attention -- the majority of cutters are _not_ attention-seekers, and will often go to great lengths to hide their habit.
To the person who called this a fake post -- it isn't. I used to do the exact same thing, and if you check the "Bodies Under Seige" support group you'll find many other people there have also experienced this.
man you should sort it out cause its an addiction and it cant be good if you dont even need to take a chemical to be so addicted. u must like it?? no shit ul end up dead soon otherwise.
actually i still cut and usually before id do it because i was trying to hurt somebody and some days id just do it for no good reason actually there is no good reason to cut but yea it is normal but then again it isn't normal because no person should self mutalate themselves evening though im a hypocrite i don't like others doin what i do
Or just fun for rainy days... Don't go overboard, though - There's a difference between Thoughtful slashings and outright suicide
