Beer cures pain in my knees?
I am 19 years old and graduated high school less than a year ago. I have not really done any physical activity since highschool but I am still in good shape, 145 pounds 5'8'. I have had very bad pain in the joints of my knees for the past 2 months and when i go to the doctors, they just give me some bullsh*t answer. When I drink beer and get drunk, the next morning my knees feel great, not the slightest bit of pain for about the next 24 hours, although i am usually hung over. I am starting to drink more to relieve the pain in my knees because the beer works so well. Why does drinking beer relive the pain in my knees??

I recently had surgery and have opened wounds that the doctors did not stitch and did not prescribe me pain killers. I found red wine to help curb the pain and allow me to get rest at night. When the wine wears off the pain returns. Alcohol is a drug and many drugs are pain relievers. In moderation the beer is ok, just better off to only have it at night. I only drink the wine hours before sleeping. I doubt it is beer per say that is helping you, but the alcohol content within the beer helps relieve the pain.
Don't know whether you tried it, but the knee supports sold in sports stores work great. They are very lightweight, made out of neoprene and inexpensive. I used to wear them when running after I had a knee injury, you can even wear them throughout the day. Allow upwards of a year the knee to recover and feel better. It may not fix your problem but worth a try.

Best to avoid doctors and instead wear the knee supports over time, give it months to heal. It completely resolved my knee problems and this was over 10 years back after I messed up my knees running miles over time on the sand at the ocean.
Here's some home remedies that might help your knees . . .

You have gout. You are welcome.
don't drink to solve the problem, there has got to be an answer to this! Go to another doctor if you truly think your doc is bullshitting you! Drinking leads to serious problems in life!
my knee joint hurt too...sometimes when I walk I hear cracking sound. I bought the Joint Juice in Costco...each day I take one can..it helps me a lot from the pain. The joints have to lubricate juice and when it dry it will give you pain. So try to drink that and see how it work. It taste like sodas so I think you can drink it.
interesting..hmm :P
If you have not worked out in a year, you are NOT in good shape, dumbsh it.
Go to a doctor. But I do know that weed helps settle an upset stomach.
that's wonderful to hear that you do no physical activity and you drink beer to ease your pain. Ever thought of a career in personal training?
I am 35 yrs old and have undergone 3 knee surgeries.I probably drink a hell of a lot more beer then you.It might cure the pain temporarily but it doesnt fix the true problem.
See an orthapedic surgeon. The give the good pain meds!
By the way, get off your couch and move around.Sometimes it helps.
