Help! I hit my wife last night

Hi. I am a 28 years old and have been married for 5 years. Me and my wife have a very happy marriage and I have always loved her.

Last night I decided to go for some after work beers with my colleagues. After about 5 drafts, one of my friends decided to bring on the Rum. I really didnt want to drink it as it makes me highly aggressive. Well one thing lead to another and i had a couple of shots.

Next thing I remember is a woke up in blood ridden sheets and my wife lying next to me with a swollen eye and split lip. How could I have done something like this? I cant even face my face. I am disgusted in myself and really cant believe I did it. Please Help, What must I do? My wife wants to leave me. How the fuck could of something like this happened?

I think it happen because you were pissed. I assume your wife started having a go at you when you got in and frankly she got what she deserved.

Sorry to hear this, I can't personally see any good reason to hit a woman, unless they hit first, if you still love her try your best to make it up to her and promise to never drink again. Well thats the best advice I can offer, good luck!!

Don't drink, make her a promise you will cut out drinking entirely, not even one beer. Are you prepared to do this? If you do not have the willpower to do it, check yourself into rehab.

She may still leave you but this is the best approach to save your marriage. If you do not want to eliminate all drinking then it is better to separate from your wife. Alcohol is a drug/depressant and can bring about violent behavior in some people while in others it can be consumed in moderation with few effects.

Your story is sad but also not that uncommon.

Hi, what you should do is tell your wife that you will never ever have this drink again and you give her your word and if you break it then she can leave you. Also tell her you will go and see a doctor or someone else, or that you will do anything not to lose her. Get down and beg on the floor. Do anything.

thats horrible man, i suggest u show her u love her by quitting drinking and even that is not enuff to say ur sorry. i could never hit a female and that guy up there that said i cant seem to find a good reason to hit a girl unless she hits me first that is still not a good reason u shouldn't raise ur hands at any female they are precious and should mean the world to u no matter what race, size or color we need them in our life and and should be worshipped, :) i love females i cant live without em

You should probably make a statement of your love for her by dropping alcohol entirely. You should also be very kind for a few months, make her breakfast in bed, spend lots of quality time with her, that sort of thing. Even then she still might leave you.

let her leave you. you shouldnt have hit her in the first place and alcohol is no excuse. even if she did get in your way doesnt make it right to beat her. people who said she deserved it then it just goes to show that you believe in men beating there wives or the other way around. its sick.

If she hasnt called cops yet, you should tell them urself. do it so it doesnt get outa hand, you shouldnt think "oh im sorry about it, so its ok cause i onyl did it once, and im sorry" That doesnt matter, it WILL get worse. It doesnt matter if she forgave you you still did a bad thing, you could go to AA (even if u dont think ur an alchohaulic, doesnt matter if u arnt addicted, if it fucks u up, you should go) just do something, take charge of your life, and submit to punishment
