Correct spelling and grammar
Whenever I read any article or forum post online, I get really irked by people starting sentences without capitals, bad grammar, and incorrect punctuation. Furthermore, I judge the writer of the article based on this; someone more articulate and erudite in their dialogue will likely find favour with me, while I will treat people that are more lax with their spelling and grammar as being a short of a few brain cells.
Is this healthy? Does anyone else do this? Should I throw myself off the nearest tall building for being so damn prejudiced?
A lot of the worlds problems arise from bad communication and it doesn't take much extra effort to do it right, so do it right, right?
It's understandable to disregard people with very coherent arguments when their spelling and grammar are atrocious. If they have enough brain cells to formulate such an elaborate thought, then surely they are capable of using proper spelling and grammar as well. Otherwise, their schooling (assuming they had some) was wasted.

Stoopid amerikuns.
I canny dae proper english an is this buggin ye yet. I jis canny help it ye kain.
However, even the abberation of some words are really uncalled for. Such as "u" for "you" and "r" for "are" is complete and total lack of intelligence. Its not to type faster either, considering its only two more freaking letters.
Periods are your best friend. PLEASE use them. Also see the little space I left up there? You should, its called making paragraphs so your text is easier to read.
The bottom line is this:
If someone is unwilling to even attempt to use even the most minor forms of the english language such as period and forming semi-coherent sentances, then they are not worth any time to deal with. I don't know how many times I've left comments where the only advice I can give is "Learn English"
I blame the schools.
You are prejudiced.
Just because someone hasn't developed any typing or computer skills doesn't mean they aren't capable of expressing a legitimate opinion, here or anywhere else. It doesn't mean they can't spell or use grammar and syntax properly- when you write on paper you don't need to hold shift to captialize, or any other fucked witchcraft involved with typing.
Some people speak much more eloquently and coherently than they can express on paper. People that exercise the rules of grammar and spelling online may be clumsy and stumble with words when spoken aloud.
Typing online, oral expression, and writing are all very different skills. If someone is good at one, it isn't necessary that they excell in the others. The same can be said vice versa. It's natural to be partial with those that obey grammar and spelling online simply because their text is easier to read, but don't assume those with poor typing skill are completely ignorant.
Rage&Hate, school hasn't changed. The internet is a huge influence. Back in the day, there were no computers to fuck up the art of language, but now there are. I highly doubt they'll be instating a "Proper Technique of Expression in Forums" course in school. Communication on the internet isn't dependent on spelling and grammar, especially between teenagers over instant messengers and chatrooms.
They think it looks cool, but they are doing a disservice to their own people by butchering the english language like a bus full of speds.
