Is It Normal?
What do you think?
side of the road
This is something that happened to me about a month ago. I just want to know if my reaction was normal, or if I'm a total weirdo.

It was a weekend and I was coming home from my boyfriend's house. He lives in a small, safe town in the middle of the woods. It was about 2 am when I left. I was used to the area and noticed a neighbors dog in the middle of the road, which was unusual. Then I saw a jeep ahead parked on the side of the road. I ignored it, feeling weird, but had to turn around when I saw that a huge electricity pole and tree had fallen and covered the road. When I turned around, I was startled by a man covered in blood. He stood near the jeep which was also bloody. I was really scared but stopped to see if the man needed me to call 911. He told me not to call the cops (was drunk) and that he wanted a ride to the farm he worked at, which was just down the road. I was going to call my bf but we were kinda far and his cell had no mins. So, I listened and didn't call 911! Instead, I told the guy to walk (due to blood) and I'd stay close to the side of him. I did that for about 10 mins when he reached the farm and at this point there was blood spewing everywhere. When he went inside, I left to go home and not even 30 secs later a cop pulled into the farmhouse. Do you think what I did was normal?? Keeep in mind the time and fact I was scared crap.

id get the fuck outta there
Bad move on your part. When I see someone walking alone on a highway at night, often with an abandoned car roadside, I phone the police and tell them what I saw and let them deal with it. That's their job to check it out and they have backup in case of the situation turns sour.

Your good intentions often lead to tragedy. Even if you are heavily armed and are not alone, it is best not to approach a stranger at night in a remote location. You should have just driven on and found the nearest pay phone or knocked on someones door and asked them to phone the police for you. Requesting someone call the police for you always gets cooperation.
Just to add, cell phones or land based phones can always dial 911 even if your minutes have expired. As long as you have a charge on your phone, it will dial 911 and reach an operator even if your account is shut down or your number is no longer in use.
I wouldn't have had anything at all to do with him because, the situation was an unknown one. For all I know, he might have killed someone and I'd be next on his list.

You did way more than I would have. Sorry but that's the truth.
I'm not saying what you did was wrong - you helped the guy back and that was a kind thing to do... but it could have been wrong. I think you should have phoned 911 and helped the guy on the spot if he was really losing that much blood. But hey, it's happened, water under the bridge, etc. etc. Don't dwell on it, just hold it in mind if destiny calls again.
The guys name was either JASON or FREDDIE and now he has it out for you!!!
He probably tried to masturbate in the car while he was driving, and hit a pole. That's what i do...
Hey i wouldnt go sumwere with him IN THE WOODS HELO =| i just woulda called 911 duhh u didnt have 2 listen 2 him x
yes you're intentions were good. I applaud you for that. But Sisophous is right, you should've called from the cell phone or go to a pay phone.

Do you know if the guy survived?
