blackout

Once upon a time, I was watching TV. Then the TV turned to static. I immediately thought 'EMP from 10 Megaton airburst over the North Sea, taking out all unhardened electronic devices in the UK.' I got out of my chair, then blacked out (due to the radiation/blast from a closer detonation?) Sometime later I came round on the floor, got up, put the aerial back in the TV, and resumed watching the program.

Is that normal?
