Help. Gambling my future away
I got a very serious gambling addiction. I'm 20 years old and studing at Duke university. I have been gambling my school fees and monthly allowance away. Every month my parents put money in my account so I can pay my School fees and have enough to survive. For the last 6 months I have been using that money to play Texas Hold 'em poker.
The problem is I cannot stop. My parents have no idea of my deception. I have recieved many warnings from the university and just yesterday recieved a final warning. They threatening to kick me out of college and take my parents to court for failure of payment.
PLEASE HELP, WHAT MUST I DO? If I tell my parents they will be disappointed and force me to move back to Texas and finish my studies thier where they can keep a eye on me.
PLEASE I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. There is no way I can come up with 6 months school fees in a month. My only solution is to tell my parents I need a car and when then use that money to pay the fees. Any advice Welcomed.
Accept responsibility, tell your parents and expect to hear a whirlwind of crap coming your way.
Get help for this addiction, it is very common and self-destructive. I suggest you leave school before they kick you out since you have no self-control.
Step 1: Tell your parents, explain you have an illness that you can't control.
Step 2: Leave school, withdraw from all classes.
Step 3: Get help for the addiction.
You should not deceive your parents any longer. Good luck and stay off clear away from gambling sites.
