Mine holds up to around 1000. Yes, you should read into those reviews more carefully so you dont get ripped off. If you get a bad one, think how much money you have wasted because those things are costly! ipods and irivers are the best mp3's out there, sisophous, thats what i think anyways! Depending on which one you have, move the hold to on and then turn it back off, then hold down menu and the center button for like 6-10 seconds and it should reset.
