my friends party

my friend sarah is having this party for her 20th birthday & i've been invited along with quite a few others. Thing is she wants everybody to turn up wearing refuse sacks/bin liners & costumes made from them. Im not sure about this & im worried about what others might think seeing me going to this party. Is a party like this normal & am i normal to worry?
